-
Student-Centered Learning Design
Kings Academy empowers students to practice and implement 21st-century skills: leadership, collaboration, innovation, and problem solving. Students work in multi age classrooms that offer dynamic opportunities for learning and growth. Guides focus on individual student experiences and needs.
-
Accountability
King's Academy is a learning environment that embraces high standards and encourages students to take responsibility for their learning., choices, and ultimately their future. We believe responsible behavior is made up of six essential elements-- honesty, respect, kindness, fairness, accountability, and courage.
-
Self-Paced Learning
Self-paced learning differs from the traditional teacher-led, whole-class lessons. It allows students to use materials and resources to customize the way they learn in class, completing work at their own pace.
-
Real-Life Experiences
Whether its launching a startup business, playing a musical instrument, sewing a bag, programming a robot, or refining their athletic skills, King's Academy students are building real-life skills in the classroom every day.
-
Guides vs. Teachers
Our educators act as Guides. Rather than acting like experts and teaching information, guides facilitate learning with thought-provoking questions, open-ended projects. We create a classroom environment that embraces individual ideas and risk-taking.
-
Community
Family atmosphere supporting accountability, the safety to fail, and relational development. Through missions discipleship, children learn to share God's love in multiple ways with our local community and beyond. From helping less fortunate, to just sharing a smile or prayer with someone who needs it.
